Well, heard today the final decision on the names of the new servers.  First of all, I’m very disappointed in SOE for now keeping Florendyl as the RP server, there’s not even going to be one at all.  The majority of Florendyl even wanted to KEEP their home, but instead SOE pulls out the lame excuse that the server population has dropped by 30% since they asked the community this.

I’m like “What the heck, don’t they know this is vacation time for a lot of people now”?!.  In a way they good outweighs the bad on this though, but I did enjoy role-playing in the game.  If they re-open Florendyl in the future or another name for a RP server, I’m heading right to it.

On another game related note, I’m very impressed with SOE and the latest patch for Vanguard.  I didn’t expect a big improvement in the game like I got, but it sure did surprise me greatly.  They still have a long way to go to optimize the game, but they’re off to a good start.  There’s still some memory leaks here and there, but nowhere near as often beforehand.  I can run the game now nicely at 50-60FPS on medium settings with certain features lowered or completely turned off.  I’m happy with the way SOE is going with the game, I just hope this post doesn’t jinx them, hehe.

A guildmate of mine from Vanguard posted this on their forums.  It made me laugh, it’s a comic about SOE screwing up server merges.

SOE bought out Sigil today.  I have mixed feelings about this move, but honestly I saw it coming.  I am surprised that it happened this fast though.  I just hope they don’t interfere so much and allow what staff from Sigil they hire back to continue their work.

After some fixing around and finally solved a problem with it, I now have the Vanguard Screenshots page working.  Expect to see more on there soon!

Today was a great day for me, the morning started out with lots of work order for wood and a few bear skins. I went around chopping down anything I could see and it was very tiresome, but it was worth it for I’m now officially a Artificer! I haven’t tried to create anything yet as I’m still gathering up supplies so I can do so though.

Later in the day I was sent out to take care of some nuisances through various tasks the elders and guards sent me on. Afterwards, I returned to my trainer and she taught me some neat spells. I especially like Spirit of Rakurr as it makes me travel on foot much, much faster.

That’s it for the night, I’m very tired after a very productive day so it’s time to get some well deserved rest!

Today was a interesting day, I was sent to the village council for some reason early this morning. I met a female councilwoman named Torsh and we began talking about our village’s politics and that’s where things began to become interesting! She told me they were looking for some young adventurers from the village to be trained to become a diplomat.

I was a bit edgy on the subject, but after more attempts at convincing me, I finally made up my mind to try it. She explained the basics to me at the start and we began a small debate. After a few minutes of debate she sighs and then smiles as she congratulates me for winning. After that, we did a few more debates, each one though increased in difficulty. We did these practices most of the morning before she decided to stop for the day and told me to return tomorrow to continue if I wished.

Later in the afternoon, the council sent for me again to inform me of a traitor within the village and asked me to take care of it. I was worried because I had to turn against one my own kind. I was sadden upon this request when it began. I tried to talk to the traitor, but then he pulled out a dagger and aimed for my throat. I didn’t really know what happened next, all I remember is a mere blur. I leaped back, avoiding the dagger strike and began to battle the traitor. A few moments later, my mace was covered in blood as the traitor dropped to the ground lifeless.

It bothered me, and still does somewhat knowing that our people are willing to betray us for someone else, but something inside me keeps telling me I did the right thing. I do hope this doesn’t occur again, I don’t think I could do it again.

The name’s Narcon Varshe, I finally reached the age to go out alone into the world of Telon! I’m very excited about this day although my family are sorrowful since my late father died out in the field battling a army of undead a few ago. I guess they’re all worried that I’m cursed to the same fate, but I hope to prove them wrong.

I decided to follow the path of the Shaman and I quickly learned some neat spells. My trainer was very impressed at my rate of learning. She mentioned something to me about serving a specific patron spirit, but that confused me at the start so she just laughed at me and told me not to worry about it right now.

The village people already sent me out to do some odd jobs that I’ve already began, but I have yet to complete them. I hope things go well for me in the future and that the gods look down upon my family and put hope into their hearts that I’ll be a fine and mighty warrior.

Made it to level 8 today on my Vulmane Shaman and got my spells and I’m liking it. Two more levels and I can post about how the horses are. One thing I like about the level 10 mount is that it doesn’t cost insane, just a little more than twelves silver actually. And also as the title says I have added on another journal entry of my character’s adventures through the game.

Got a page created today, it’ll store many stories that I’ll write that’ll be about my main character’s journey through the game.

Sigil has announced the server names for Vanguard:SoH upon it’s release on the 30th this month.
